Upgrading is instant on our platform — no migration, no downtime, no re-uploading files. Your site stays live the entire time.

Upgrade in 3 clicks

  1. Log in to your dashboard.
  2. Go to Hosting → Your plan → Change plan.
  3. Pick the target plan and confirm.

The plan change is applied within about 60 seconds. You'll see the new resource limits reflected immediately in cPanel.

What actually happens behind the scenes?

Nothing visible to you. Your files, databases, email accounts, and DNS stay exactly where they are. What changes is a server-side quota adjustment — we lift the limits on disk space, bandwidth, simultaneous database connections, and similar resources.

No files are moved. No services restart. Your visitors notice nothing.

How is the price change handled?

Upgrades are prorated immediately. You're charged the difference for the rest of the current billing period. For example, if you're 10 days into a monthly billing cycle and upgrade from €4.99 to €12.99, you'll be charged the prorated difference for the remaining 20 days.

Downgrades take effect at the next renewal. You keep your current plan's benefits until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then the new (lower) plan activates at renewal time. We don't refund the prorated difference on downgrades — the trade-off is that you get to use the higher plan's features until renewal.

What if I'm on a 2-year or 3-year plan?

Multi-year plans can be upgraded mid-term. When you do:

  • The new plan's standard rate is applied for the rest of your current term.
  • Any multi-year discount you had on the previous plan carries over to the new one.
  • You're charged the prorated difference for the remaining months.

You cannot downgrade mid-term on a multi-year plan — you'd have to wait until renewal.

When should I upgrade?

The most common signals:

  • Disk usage above 80% of your plan's quota. Our dashboard warns you when you cross this.
  • Frequent "too many database connections" errors during traffic spikes. More common on Current when it's ready to move to Rapids.
  • Needing a second website. Stream is single-site. Everything above hosts multiple.
  • Wanting daily automated backups. Included from Current upwards.

There's no "you must upgrade when..." rule. If your current plan works for you, stay on it.

Can I downgrade if I overestimated?

Yes. The process is identical — dashboard → Change plan → pick a lower plan. It takes effect at next renewal (see above).

One thing to check before downgrading: make sure you fit within the new plan's limits. If you have 8 databases and the target plan only allows 3, you need to consolidate before the downgrade takes effect, or the system will disable the overage ones at renewal.

Common questions

  • Do I lose any data on upgrade? No.
  • Do my email accounts survive the upgrade? Yes, untouched.
  • Will my SSL certs still work? Yes.
  • Will my scheduled cron jobs still run? Yes.
  • Do I need to update my DNS? No — same server IP, nothing to change.

Still unsure? Open a ticket and we'll talk you through your specific setup before you click upgrade.
