Installing WordPress on your hosting.

Install WordPress in a couple of minutes on your domain or in a folder: where the button is, what to fill in and what to do right after.

1 MIN READ

WordPress is installed for you in a couple of minutes, with SSL and an admin account ready.

Installing

  1. Your project → Website → Software (right under Overview), or type «wordpress» in Search this website.
  2. Click Install an app → WordPress.
  3. Address — pick the domain. Where on the site: The whole site or A sub-folder (for example blog). The folder should be empty: if the site already has files there, choose a sub-folder.
  4. Fill in Site name, Admin username, Admin email and Site language.
  5. Start the installation.

We generate a strong admin password and show it once when the installation starts — save it in your password manager. You can follow the progress on the page; it takes about a minute or two.

Right after

  • Open WordPress admin on the WordPress card signs you in.
  • The card shows the version: a new WordPress version is installed with Update to …; plugin and theme updates are counted on the card and installed in WordPress admin.
  • ⋯ → Reinstall or Delete (the site's files and database).
  • SSL is issued for the domain automatically; the site opens over https://.

If the site does not open

The WordPress card checks the address and says what is wrong — most often the domain does not point to Rivervo yet. See Connecting a domain you already own.

Several WordPress sites

Each domain, subdomain or folder can have its own WordPress. Add a domain or subdomain first (Website → Domains), then install into it.

Deploying your own code instead

Deploy from GitHub on the same page puts a repository from GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket on the site and updates it on every push.
