Install WordPress in a couple of minutes.

The quickest way to a WordPress site on Rivervo is the panel's installer. No zip files, no database setup.

Install

Open the project → Website → Software → Install an app → WordPress. Ordering a new website? Pick WordPress in the order wizard (+ Create → Website) and it's installed for you.

Fill in:

• Where on the site: the whole site, or a folder such as blog (→ yourdomain.com/blog). The folder should be empty.
• Admin username: don't use admin — it's the first name bots try.
• Admin email: one you actually read; password recovery goes there.
• Site language.

The admin password is shown once. Save it in a password manager before you close the window.

After a minute or two the WordPress card shows Open WordPress admin, Visit site and, when a new version is out, Update to ….

First things to change

1. Settings → General: set the site title and make sure both URLs start with https://.
2. Settings → Permalinks: choose Post name for clean URLs.
3. Plugins: delete the ones you don't use. For speed, turn on the cache under Website → Speed.
4. Users: if you ended up with an admin user, create a new administrator and delete admin.

Removing a WordPress site

On the WordPress card: ⋯ → Delete removes the site's files and database.
