Launching your first application from GitHub.
Connect GitHub, pick a repository, choose resources and an address, and go live in a few minutes — with a 3-day free trial for your first application.
Applications run your own code — a site, an API, a background job — straight from your Git repository. You don't pick a server or a hosting plan: you choose a repository, we work out how to build and run it, and every push goes live by itself.
Everything happens in the new panel (rivervo.com/panel-v2) → Applications → New application.
1. Connect your Git account
GitHub is always available. Click Connect GitHub: GitHub asks where to install Rivervo (your personal account or an organization) and which repositories it may read. Nothing is written to your repositories.
Already installed Rivervo on GitHub earlier? Use Already installed it on GitHub? Link it.
GitLab and Bitbucket appear as extra buttons above the repository list where they are available. Connecting them works the same way: you allow Rivervo to read your repositories and to add a webhook for automatic deploys. Your code is never changed.
2. Pick the repository
Search your repositories, click the one to deploy, then choose:
- Branch — the branch that goes live. Every push to it is deployed automatically.
- Project folder — only for a repository with several projects (a monorepo), e.g.
apps/web. Leave it empty when the project is at the root.
Click Continue.
No repository yet? Or start from a template creates a new repository in your GitHub account from one of our templates — Next.js, Laravel, Express, Flask or a static site. The code is yours, and you deploy changes with a push.
3. What we detect
We read the repository and work out how to build and start it. You don't write any configuration. We recognise:
| Stack | What we look for |
|---|---|
| Node.js | Next.js, Nuxt, SvelteKit, Astro, Express, Fastify, Koa, Hono, NestJS; npm, yarn or pnpm by the lock file |
| PHP | Laravel, Symfony, Slim, CodeIgniter or plain PHP (8.2–8.4) |
| Python | Django, Flask, FastAPI |
| Go | a go.mod at the root |
| Static sites | plain HTML, or a front-end build: Vite (React, Vue, Svelte), Create React App, Angular, Gatsby, Docusaurus, VitePress, a static Next.js or Nuxt export |
If your repository has its own Dockerfile, we build with it as it is — that is also the way to run a stack that isn't on the list.
You can change the detected install, build and start commands later in Settings → Build settings. Notes for each stack: Laravel, Node.js, Next.js and Nuxt, Python, static sites.
4. Resources and price
Choose as much as your application needs with three sliders:
| Resource | Price | Range |
|---|---|---|
| Memory | $6 per GB a month | 256 MB, 512 MB, then whole GB up to 16 GB |
| CPU | $4 per core a month | 1 to 8 cores |
| Disk | 10 GB included per GB of memory, then $0.15 per GB a month | 5 to 500 GB, in steps of 5 GB |
A few examples:
| Memory | CPU | Disk | Monthly |
|---|---|---|---|
| 512 MB | 1 core | 5 GB | $7 |
| 1 GB | 1 core | 10 GB | $10 |
| 2 GB | 2 cores | 20 GB | $20 |
| 4 GB | 2 cores | 60 GB | $35 |
The panel shows the monthly total as you move the sliders. You can change the resources at any time later; the application keeps its data. Every application also includes 500 GB of traffic a month per project — see Billing for applications.
5. The address
Every application gets a free address with HTTPS: https://<name>.rivervo.app. Pick the name (small Latin letters, digits and dashes, 3–42 characters); the panel tells you right away whether it is free. You can connect your own domain after the launch — see Custom domains.
6. Launch — and the free trial
Click Launch and add your card. Your first application comes with a 3-day free trial: the card is not charged during those 3 days, and the first payment is taken when the trial ends. After that the application is billed monthly at the price shown.
The trial is offered once per account — for the first application you launch.
7. The first deploy
After the launch the panel shows each step live: fetching the code, a security check, building, starting and switching on the address. It usually takes a few minutes. Before every release we check the code for hidden malicious code; a project that contains it is not built or run.
When the deploy finishes, Open takes you to your live application.
If the launch does not finish, the panel shows the step and the log. Fix the cause in your code or Variables and click Try again — nothing more is charged. Explain this error gives you a short explanation of the log and how to fix it (see Developer tools).
